AVOIDING AUTO CAR DEALER SCAMS

Most of us feel two things when we go shopping for a new
car. One is the dread of those car dealers swooping in on
you before you can even get out of your car. But you're
excited about purchasing a new car. There are many good
dealerships out there that will give you the space you need
plus has a good reputation when it comes to the car
dealers. However, there are those less than reputable
dealerships that will sell you car that is guaranteed to
fall apart as soon as you drive off the car lot.

What you don't want to feel is scared and confused about
having to fight for what you want when buying your car. The
best defense against this is to bone up on your car buying
skills. Both you and the salesperson want to feel like you
both have gotten something from this relationship, no
matter how brief it may be.

Think of buying a new auto much as you would anything else.
For instance, if you were in the market for a new
refrigerator, you would shop around to look at various
models. You would open the door, pull out drawers, look
at the size, and give the refrigerator the once-over before
making a final decision. Obviously, a car is a bigger deal
but you need to go through every aspect of the auto as
well, especially if you are buying a used car.

The experts tell us there are two good times a year to buy
a new car. The end of December, because most people are so
focused on the holidays and Christmas that buying a new car
is the last thing on their minds. It's a slow time for
dealerships and they will compete vigorously for your
business. The second time of the year is from July all the
way through October. This is the time the new car models
are coming out and dealerships are eager to get rid of
their inventory. Some car dealers will offer up as much as
$5000 dollars off a new car.

Online is one good place to look for good car deals. Many
dealers will offer good rebates and dealer incentives.
There are also good websites that will help you choose a
good used car. These websites research certain used cars
on the market and check the history of these cars. Of
course you will not be buying a car online, you still need
to go for a test drive and such, but the Internet is a good
place to start and will save you from running all over the
place.

Finally, if you plan to finance your new auto, know your
credit score. While this might not sound important, the
truth is that the more you know where you are from a
financial standpoint the better you can bargain. For
instance, having a good credit score often means you can
secure a lower interest rate, kind of as a reward from
lenders. By understanding and knowing your credit, you can
ensure you are being offered the best finance package
possible. The result of doing research prior to buying is
driving away in a new auto but at a price, and with
financing that is fair.
